| Hi Jon, welcome to the world of beekeeping. I would recommend visiting a local beekeeping association, but after viewing the map, there are none in your area. You might check with your County Extension Office and see if they know of any beekeepers in your area. Beekeepers are wonderful about helping one another, and if they can't help you, they will look for someone who can. I would also suggest, if possible, you try to attend the MSBA Spring Meeting in Overland Park, Kansas in March. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet other beekeepers from Missouri and Kansas. One goal I have as President is to form some new organizations, north of the Missouri River to serve beekeepers like you who are not close to any local associations. If you can get a few other beekeepers interested in forming a local association, please let me, or your director know, and we will do what we can to help you out. |

Dogman Welcome to the world of Bee's.
I live over north of Cameron. We dont have a club close by yet but its being considered I think. If you get a chance drop me a line and come over to visit. I'm in my second year so no pro but I can get you out and see what all the hoopla is!! I have 10-11 hives going now and getting swarm calls all the time. Maybe we can get you out to help catch one sometime soon?
Do you have any equipment yet like hives w/ frames, beesuit etc?
